"The Persistence of Memory" by Salvador Dali |
I had a dream that i had to save to world against this terrible robot terminator type thing. The town was an odd place - and every single person was gluten free. It was so miserable, i just wanted a cookie but every single thing i ate crumbled like powder. Meanwhile the robots were counting down to destroy the whole town. Suddenly i thought of an ingenious idea - if we all go underwater they cant kill us. Into the water we dived, into the water we survived. And then all of a sudden i was pregnant. - Dreams, anything is possible!
What i find most amusing is the fact that everything being gluten-free seemed far more serious and a tragedy then the robots destroying the towns existence. Nothing has value in a dream, nothing follows logically, yet our subconscious laps it up. I really want to know why, why anything is possible for our dream person, but not for our wake person.
Salvador Dali is fantastic, even though i know almost nothing about him! He is a highly skilled surrealist artist who did the work you can see up there. He makes dream like images into realistic paintings with so much fluency you cant help but be absorbed into his alternate reality. Here are some of his quotes that i lurrve:
"Intelligence without ambition is a bird without wings."
"Mistakes are almost always of a sacred nature. Never try to correct them. On the contrary: rationalize them, understand them thoroughly. After that, it will be possible for you to sublimate them."
"The difference between false memories and true ones is the same as for jewels: it is always the false ones that look the most real, the most brilliant."
"There are some days when I think I'm going to die from an overdose of satisfaction."
Does anyone have any crazy dreams that made so much sense? I know YOU do!
Dr.Nourozi, prescription: dreams!
