What is beauty?
Its a leaf falling from a tree in isolation. Its that unique pebble in the lost river. Its a balloon travelling into unknown territory. Its the laughter from the elderly. Its a teardrop making its way to freedom.

Through time the concept of beauty has changed, yet its intrinsic quality of attraction remains the same. Humans are naturally drawn to beauty, and no matter how subjective we believe that it is, it is always effected by many things. By our background, by our acquired knowledge, through the philosophy of aesthetics, through the social media and rules. However, the main concept of aesthetic and our attraction to it remains consistent and unwavering. Our hearts, mind, body and soul are all seeking beauty, in whatever form it may be found.

Beauty is what we look for in life, beauty is what we want to attain internally and externally. We want to look beautiful, we want to have a beautiful lifestyle, we want to have the most beautiful products, we want our life to be embodied by beauty. The interesting part of all this is how different one persons idea of beauty can be to the other persons. I find simplicity beautiful, yet many others find complexity beautiful.

One thing I believe most of us humans all find beautiful is nature. Its almost impossible to argue. Its form, its perfect arrangement, its majestic posture, its overwhelming sense of grandeur. Okay, by now you may be thinking, how about pests, poverty, natural disasters, disease and other many natural phenomenon? But, are these not also beautiful? This is not to say its enjoyable, or pleasing, but it certainly is beautiful in some respects. The way in which a species can become a threat to other species is absolutely phenomenal, the way in which poverty is created is astonishing, the way in which natural disasters can make us feel so helpless in a world where we think we control everything and how diseases can spread so viciously. Its all so damn beautiful, the kind of beauty that is frightening, that is heart-wrenching and grounding.

I decided to write about beauty because many things in my life seem hideous. Although, when I really think about it, as in really think about it,everything is beautiful. Everything is calculated no matter how catastrophic it seems. Everything has a reason, a purpose, an outcome. Everything is consequential. This pain, this suffering, this anguish and despair has come about in very beautiful ways and it has in no doubt made me a much more beautiful person.

From beauty, comes beauty.

The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart” - Helen Keller
